For me, black & white images have a timeless appeal. I’ve been shooting in black and white since I first picked up a camera and it’s’ still my favorite type of image.

This collection contains some B&W images, old and new, that I like.

Travel photography is something I came to appreciate later in life when I began to have more opportunities to see the world.

People want to know where you’ve been and so I began to shoot more on vacation for that reason.

It’s also a fun challenge to try to capture iconic scenes in your own way.

This collection features some of my favorite color travel shots from near and far.

Street Photography can be challenging. It requires heightened awareness and quick reaction time. You need to be always observing.

Focus, composition and light have to be worked out in a split-second—the decisive moment.

Misses outnumber hits—and confrontations are always a possibility. Diplomacy and sensitivity need to be part of the formula.

But when everything comes together it can be the most compelling form of photography since it tends to portray the world as it really is.

Street Portraits are a great way to capture interesting faces out in the world. It’s one of my favorite things to do and people almost always agree to pose.

Candid shots are harder. But those images of people out on the street can provide a fascinating look into society, culture and individual lives; faces and gestures captured in the moment.

This type of photography requires sensitivity to the risks of exposing people’s vulnerabilities while trying to document the world as it actually is. It’s always a balancing act.
